The countdown has officially begun. Media Day was truly one for the books. Everyone arrived in their Sunday’s best; suited, booted, and ready to shine on a day designed to highlight their unique image, presence, and personality. This behind-the-scenes moment gives us an intimate glimpse of each speaker’s story, idea, and interactive style. And trust me, they delivered. As the saying goes, we were in there like swimwear.

Media Day felt like a community coming alive; fun, friendly, and foundation-building. Headshots, interviews, and group photos set the tone as we laid the groundwork for what’s to come. The vibe in the building was almost impossible to capture in words
but I’m sure gonna try to give you a taste of what went down in H-Town at TEDx Third Ward’s Media Day.

So many passionate, professional, and genuinely warm connections were made. For most speakers, this was the first in-person meet-up after weeks spent in the virtual “From Dreamer to Speaker” semifinalist rounds and intensive Bootcamp cohorts.

Curator Durrel is deeply rooted in the mission of storytelling, community, and the transformative power of new connections. He often shares how shifting your circle and stepping out of comfort routines can jolt you into a reality that better serves your true desires and vision, rather than the illusion of safety created by old survival patterns.

And on this night? That mission was absolutely accomplished.

Now let’s talk about the After Party

ree

Everybody knows a good event is only as good as the after party, and this one? Definitely was one for the books.

Good food and good people.
Good food and good people.

It was that moment to decompress and let your hair down. The masks and formalities slid off and were tossed over a chair somewhere while people mixed, mingled, and connected with bright-eyed, purpose-driven folks all reaching toward new heights.

The energy was electric. That jolt I mentioned earlier? Undeniable. You truly had to be there.

A time was had, as everyone there was present in the vibe of laughter and passionate conversation.

Talk about round table conversations. The vibes were vibing.

But don’t worry; this isn’t a tease.

You still have the chance to feel that same powerful impact on January 10th, when these dynamic speakers step onto the illuminated red dot at The MATCH Theatre for the TEDx Third Ward event. It’s going to be Media Day times ten.

Start your New Year with a moment to remember. This is your opportunity to be part of something that will land deep in the hearts of everyone present.

You won’t regret being in the room.
